Our steel frames are stronger than aluminium, but increase the weight of the frame by about 25%. So if you are looking for a light-weight, 100% rust resistant frame, then go with the alumium, otherwise stick with steel.
Our steel shelters can handle up to 80km/hr winds, but to be safe we recommend no more than 65 kph (35 knots or High Wind = 7 on Beaufort Scale).
This does not take into account stronger gusts coming along and damaging the shelter, so if it gets windy and the shelter starts to lean over then take it down. It's important to decide "When to Hold and When to Fold". Please make sure you always use the stakes/pegs provided with your shelter at the time of purchase. Always have someone holding on to the shelter while the stakes are being attached.
Please note: Wind damage is not covered by warranty.
We don't recommend using the Enterprise shelter in more than a Fresh Breeze (5 on the Beaufort Scale - less than 40kph).

The fabrics used in our canopies are water resistant, but not waterproof. As the shelter is primarily a sun shade and is designed for a balance of ease of use, strength, portability and durability, it is made from tightly woven polyester strands rather than PVC which is high strength, helps reduce creasing and increase flexibility so the canopy can be left on the frame during storage, but does prevent it from being completely waterproof like a PVC cover would. Most drips will enter through seams and if water is allowed to pool on the fabric.
